The grains are of heat-treated selective quality, free from fine leaves, dust and heavy parts.
Spelt is the oldest type of crop and the original form of wheat. Spelt - the queen of crop - is absolutely pollutant-free, since it is very robust in cultivation and does not usually need pesticides resp. chemical fertilisers.
Compared to cherry stones, the advantage of spelt grains is the fact that heat emission is longer and the cushions are considerably more comfortable. However heating up in the oven will take longer.
The spelt grains have been specifically prepared as filler material for heat cushions. They have been dried to less than 10 % residual moisture in a special drying procedure, in particular.
